My story is probably familiar to a lot of people. I grew up wanting to be a shooting guard in the NBA or a wide receiver in the NFL. After hitting the age of about 11, I started to realize that maybe those dreams weren’t going to pan out. Luckily I had a backup: sports broadcasting. Ever since that realization, I have known without a doubt that I wanted to be a play-by-play announcer. It was the closest career I could think of to being involved with the sports I love so much.

My time at Michigan State University has only strengthened that conviction. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness a Rose Bowl, two Cotton Bowls, two Big Ten Football Championships, a Final Four and a Big Ten Basketball Championship in my three-and-a-half years. Being around the people who call these incredible events like George Blaha and Will Tieman has assured me that I’m on the right path. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to reach my goal of becoming a play-by-play announcer, even if that means covering a middle school rec league. Whatever it takes, I’m going to do it.
